Maersk accelerates net zero for 2040 and 2030

Associated 2030 targets will ensure the company’s more sustainable offerings are pursued, and ‘significant’ emissions reductions could be made within this decade.

The new targets are expected to align with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) criteria to limit global warming to stay within a 1.5°C rise.

To maximise progress towards net zero supply chains in 2040, 2030 targets for a range of product offerings are being introduced, adding to solutions including Maersk’s Emissions Dashboard and Maersk ECO Delivery.

To reach its emissions targets, Maersk has committed to reducing 50% of gas emissions in its ocean freight, as well as a 70% reduction in absolute emissions.
