Martinelli receives EGSAC accolade

Glauco Martinelli, Chairman of Italy’s largest GSSA group ACSSys, was named Honarary Life President of EGSAC at the organisation’s 2008 AGM in Istanbul, in recognition of his six years’ service as President of the growing network of independent GSSAs.

Mr. Martinelli retired from his EGSAC post in April, and was replaced as President by EGSAC’s Vice President, Ton Smulders. Mr. Smulders’ former post was taken by Mike Staeck of Transnautic Aero.

In front of a meeting of representatives from 30 of the 35 member countries in the EGSAC network, Mr. Smulders presented Mr. Martinelli with a collectors’ model of an historic Lockheed Constellation airliner, and thanked him for his huge contribution to the growth of the organisation.

The EGSAC network of independent GSSAs now has 80 bases in 35 countries.
