New lettings at refurbished Leeds industrial estate

A new letting has been agreed at Gildersome Spur Industrial Estate in Leeds. This follows Orchard Street Investment Management’s refurbishment of several units at the 2.5-acre West Yorkshire site.

The refurbishment process has taken place in the last year. In addition to replacing roofs, Orchard Street has installed photovoltaic (PV) panels, LED lighting, air source heat pumps, and electric vehicle (EV) charging points.

Hazel Cooper, Graduate Surveyor at Carter Towler, commented: “It’s fantastic to see the estate’s owner’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the quality of the units and the infrastructure of the site as a whole.

“Their latest round of investment has focused on ensuring important ESG credentials are achieved. All the refurbished units which range in size from 8,000ft² to 20,000ft² have now been let.”

Since the refurbishments began, firms in the flooring, windows, and healthcare sectors have moved to Gildersome Spur Industrial Estate.

The most recent agreement is for the letting of a unit – that is yet to be fully refurbished – to Duftons Plumbing and Heating Supplies, due to move into the facility in Q4 2023. This is the fifth letting at the site in the past 12 months.

Gildersome Spur Industrial Estate consists of 27 industrial and logistics units with a combined coverage of 470,000ft².

Paul Mack, Director of GV&Co’s Industrial Agency Team, added: “Gildersome Spur has an excellent track record and for good reason. Not just because of the exceptional location but because of all the other benefits such as the well-appointed modern industrial accommodation, ample parking areas, and the secure and actively managed estate.

“By continuing to invest in their properties, Orchard Street are very wisely enhancing the value of their assets and the potential returns they will reap.”
