GEFCO Slovakia opens a new platform in Kechnec; GEFCO Turkey strengthens its national logistics network; GEFCO Baltic continues to expand.

 

GEFCO Slovakia has opened a new 5,800 m2 platform in eastern Slovakia within the Kechnec industrial site. Its location in between Central and Eastern Europe is set to become a key strategic international transport site for GEFCO groupage operations, ensuring the link between international direct transport lines.

GEFCO Turkey is launching a new 24/7 service at its Mersin office on the Mediterranean coast. The Mersin facility will enable GEFCO to strengthen its position at a regional level with further investment to be made in the area in the near future to boost its activities and network within the Middle East.

GEFCO Baltic posted strong results for 2010, with a turnover of €18 million in 2010. The subsidiary continues to pursue an ambitious development strategy and is now operating new services into Central Asia, where shipments are transported from central and northern Europe and Scandinavia to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

By implementing a shared information system and providing integrated logistics solutions, GEFCO Baltic offers a delivery time of 20-25 days for multimodal transport and 10-15 days for road transport.
