Novartis appoints IJS Global to manage animal healt business in Philippines

IJS Global has won a three year contract for the warehousing and distribution of Novartis Animal Healthcare products in The Philippines.  Novartis Animal Health focuses on the wellbeing of farm animals on the health and productivity, for both swine and poultry.  
 
It works at the forefront of new developments and innovations for the most common ailments such as parasites, and allergic diseases.  For livestock and poultry, it offers prevention and treatment through vaccination and therapeutic products against parasitic, viral and bacterial infections.
 
IJS Global has designed and built a specialist 600sqm, 500 pallet position temperature-controlled warehouse to Novartis precise requirements. The facility at San Dionisio, Paranaque City, Metro Manila is equipped with a chiller which keeps livestock vaccines at between 3°C and 8 °C.  The remainder of the facility holds other livestock products such as feedmix and pesticides.  IJS Global also maintains a second smaller facility at Davao City with an ambient temperature warehouse for pesticide products.  The company is responsible for product distribution to both end user customers and dealers from the two facilities.
 
"We operate a multi-modal facility built to Novartis‘ exact requirements," states IJS Global’s Managing Director, Philippines,  Rose Su.  "Most of the shipments are bulky and therefore travel by ocean but we also handle a significant amount of airfreight where the shipments are urgent and cannot wait for an ocean transit.
 
"The majority of the vital vaccines we handle through the San Dionisio facility are for distribution throughout the country which can mean air, land and sea and are for use in both poultry and swine", concludes Su.
