Pan Am reopens Gateway to Latin America, launches cargo services to Mexico

Pan American Airways has officially announced its re-establishment and the reopening of the Gateway to Latin America located at the Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport.

Starting in 2011, Pan American Airways will launch inaugural flights from Brownsville in Texas to Monterrey in Mexico, as well as other Mexico cities.

The carrier will fly seventy cargo flights a month from Brownsville to destinations in Latin America.

Future cargo services will include flights to Rio de Janeiro in support of the 2016 Olympic games and the World Cup.

Pan American Airways and sister company World-Wide Consolidated Logistics opened a TSA-certified Cargo Screening Facility on September 15th at the Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport. This is now open to other air cargo charter companies.
