Plans submitted for 136,000ft² Stannah warehouse in Hampshire

Plans have been submitted for a second unit on behalf of lift manufacturer Stannah at Andover Business Park in Hampshire. The new unit, adjacent to Stannah’s existing factory, will be used for storage and distribution.

The application, submitted by developer Stoford, proposes the development of a new 136,100ft² unit on a c. 10-acre plot to the north of the business park. This will expand Stannah’s operation in Andover, with construction having recently completed on its 90,000ft² factory there. It is hoped that the new facility will support the company’s global expansion.

Jon Stannah, Managing Director of Stannah Group, explained: “We are delighted to be working with Stoford again to secure planning for our second unit at Andover Business Park. The additional space will support our global expansion, seeing ever more Andover-made stairlifts exported around the globe.”

Sustainability features on campus will include “solar panelling, LED lighting, and air source heat pumps, with cycle storage facilities and provision for future EV charging points”.

Stoford Director Edward Peel, added: “We are excited to put forward plans for the second phase of development of Stannah’s new campus at Andover Business Park. We’ve already worked in partnership to successfully deliver a high-quality, sustainable unit as part of phase one and are excited by the potential to develop a new warehouse/distribution unit on the adjacent plot. It will not only support Stannah’s future growth but sustain valuable manufacturing jobs in Andover.”
