On August, 31, 2012 Raben officially opens a new warehouse in Nürnberg.

As of the 3rd of Septemberall operations shall be transferred from the previous buildings to the new one. The investment in Nürnberg includes new offices, a high storage warehouse and a cross-dock as well.

“The new warehouse has the capacity of 15 000 m² to be used for storage of goods and additionally 8 000 m² cross dock. We invested ca. 18 million Euro in this warehouse. Nürnberg is an important city for German economy and it is gateway for Raben Group – that is why we have decided to build our warehouse there. Thanks to the new, efficient cross-dock we can optimize our services what we believe will be an asset for our customers too“ – said Ewald Raben, CEO of Raben Group.

This investment in Nürnberg is one of the few that Raben finished in Germany in the last two years. Raben Group also has new warehouses in Wuppertal, Würzburg and Mittenwalde near Berlin.

“Our employees in this location have 1 673 m2 of new modern offices at their disposal now. It is important for us to guarantee that our people work in a friendly environment and that is why we invest in new offices. It is worth to mention that the new warehouse has controlled temperature, so it is possible to store there goods which require such conditions, for example food” – said Helmut Huber, Brand Manager.

79 instead of 55 ramps create adequate conditions for fast and flexible reactions to the customers’ needs – even if the transport volume continues to increase. By means of a video surveillance system with 114 cameras now, an all-over trace of each shipment is possible. Thanks to this system, processes can be documented, analyzed and modified if needed.

It is worth to note that the new warehouse building has a sprinkler system, very efficient ESFR standard, which means the highest level of fire safety.
