RCO AT enhances its rail system between Wolfurt and Rotterdam

Enhancing its six weekly rotations to the German North Sea ports, Rail Cargo Operator – Austria (RCO AT) has launched a new rail system from Wolfurt to Rotterdam in April. In addition to the existing services to the northern and southern ports, these two rotations will also connect the increasingly important western ports.

While so far only the ECT Delta has been called directly, the APM2 container terminal is to be added in July. All other terminals are served with partners.

According to Rail Cargo Operator – Austria especially imports provide the advantage of shorter transit times by seaway to the economic area of Bodensee, which may also be provided on the railway, given the fast transit from Rotterdam to Wolfurt. Since capacity for exports has always been a “scarce commodity” in recent years, now two additional departures per week are available to the shipping industry.

“The new terminals on Maasvlakte 2 are increasingly called by the shipping companies. We are responding to this with an extra stop on the APM2. Apart from the deep sea volume, customers can also book short sea and continental volume”, Rail Cargo Operator – Austria informs in a letter.
