Schäflein Logistics opened its first branch in Austria

New location of Schäflein, specialist for contract logistics, in Hallein near Salzburg (Austria) manages boxes of Robert Bosch AG

Schäflein Logistics has opened a new location in Hallein near Salzburg on May 1. The 8,000 m² logistics centre will be used by the specialist for contract logistics, who is a network partner of sprintBOX GmbH, for the box management of the nearby plant of Robert Bosch AG. 40 employees in multi-shift operation will clean the reusable boxes, joined as lots and fed into suppliers’ cycles.

Washing tunnel lines and special ultrasound technique are used for cleaning. The box management and scheduling is carried out with the „sprintBOX navigator 2.0“ IT system. Thanks to its geographical location the logistics centre serves as a central hub for Austria of the sprintBOX network.

Schäflein Logistics GmbH is a subsidiary of Schäflein AG headquartered in Röthlein (Lower Franconia/Germany). The service range covers contact logistics, storage logistics, certain value added services for assembly works and material processing, as well as the cleaning of reusable boxes. Schäflein Logistics operates logistics centres in Röthlein, Schwebheim, Grettstadt, Gochsheim, Schweinfurt, Nurember, Schwerte/Dortmund, Empfingen, Horb, Elchingen and Hallein (Austria).

The Schäflein group, also including the business units Schäflein forwarding and sprintBOX box management, has about 800 employees generating annual turnover of about EUR 100 million.
