Securitas Germany: First explosive detection dogs-team for air cargo

First explosive detection dogs-team of Securitas Germany provides new options for control of bulky air freight

With immediate effect Securitas is allowed to use explosive detection dogs for air freight control in Germany. On December 3, the first team has successfully passed the exam of the German Federal Office of Aviation (Braunschweig). Thus the security specialist expands its portfolio for the aviation and logistics industry. In addition to the use of x-ray devices and other control methods, senders of air cargo, forwarders, airlines and express air freight companies now also can have their bulky air cargo controlled more flexible and faster with explosive detection dogs.

After a two-days exam with real explosives the Federal Office of Aviation (LBA) authorised the first Securitas team to control air cargo with explosive detection dogs. Securitas has longstanding experience with the use of explosive detection dogs in other segments, and applies a holistic concept for training and implementation. Prior to the exam there had been a several months, intense project and preparation phase. “More explosive detection dogs-teams are to follow soon“, the company announces.

Securitas headquartered in Stockholm provides specialised security solutions, customised to clients’ requirements in 52 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
