Teletrac wins FMCSA contract for cross-border long-haul trucking program
Teletrac has announced it has been selected by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to provide its Fleet Director GPS fleet tracking and Hours of Service (HOS) software to FMCSA for its US – Mexico cross-border, long-haul trucking pilot program.
As indicated in the FMCSA Federal Register Notice, all Mexican carrier trucks designated for inclusion in the program will be equipped with a GPS and HOS electronic monitoring device.
Through the use of vehicle location data relative to specified geographic landmarks, Teletrac will track trucks participating in the pilot along designated routes and within pre-defined boundaries, to monitor driver adherence to program parameters and safety standards. Further, this technology enables automated status updates to back office systems, providing validated, time-stamped records of vehicle activity.
