Ten-year multi-million pound contract for Bibby
Global manufacturer of acrylic-based products Lucite International has awarded Bibby Distribution a ten-year multi-million pound warehouse and logistics contract renewal.
Lucite International designs, develops, and manufactures acrylic-based products across EAME, The Americas and Asia Pacific.
Bibby’s distribution team is responsible for managing and consolidating Lucite’s inbound products, picking stock, and cutting Perspex and Lucite sheets, as well as packaging, organising, and managing the company’s onward global distribution.
Bibby’s team operates from its 147,000 sq ft distribution centre in Walker Park, Blackburn, which it says is the largest acrylic sheet cutting operation in Europe.
The company has also transformed its Walker Park site into a zero-landfill facility as part of the deal.
“Bibby Distribution takes responsibility for the final stage of our manufacturing process and follows it through until delivery to the customer. They play a critical role in final product quality and service,“ said engineering manager at Lucite International, Scott McAlpine.
“Bibby has become an intrinsic part of our business; they continually hit KPI targets and have demonstrated a commitment to working together with us over the next decade to ensure our operation remains best-in-class.”
The two companies have now been working together for 27 years.
