Two new build-to-suit big sheds planned for Omega West

Both units already have occupiers and will be built-to-suit. The first of the two proposed facilities for which an application has been submitted this week,  will total 310,000ft2 and comes hot on the heels of the start of construction on the 830,000 ft2 Home Bargain warehouse, which caused controversy when it was called in by the Secretary of State Robert Jenrick nearly two years ago. The entire scheme was given the final go ahead in November last year.

The proposed new warehouse will have a 291,704ft2 warehouse with 15,156ft2 of two storey offices and be built to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard. It will have 19m eaves and boast 22 dock and eight Euro dock doors as well as three level access doors. There will be parking for 40 HGV and 310 cars.

Omega West is an extension to the 4 million ft2 Omega Business Park a project developed through a partnership between Homes England, Miller Developments and KUC Properties.

The Home Bargains warehouse is expected to be operational in 2024. The Merseyside-based firm has more than 570 stores across the UK, with an annual turnover of more than £3 billion.
