TX Logisitk armed for further growth with new headquarters

Based on their new headquarters in Troisdorf the rail logistics company TX Logistik striving to double turnover in the coming five years

TX Logistik AG (TXL) has new company headquarters. Presumably in April 2015, the railway logistics specialist will move into a new building in Troisdorf-Spich. The decision to move is based on the continuous growth of the company. „In 2013 we have achieved a turnover of around EUR 230 million and aim to double this figure in the next five years,“ says Frank Lehner, Director of Sales and Marketing. „Therefore we need more highly qualified staff and in line with that appropriate premises.“

Despite strong support from the city of Bad Honnef as the first contact in the search for a new location, no offer really fits. „Options between the Rhine and the Siebengebirge mountains are limited,” says Frank Lehner regretfully.

The new TXL headquarters is built on a 8,000 m² plot of land with excellent traffic connections in the industrial area of Junkersring in Spich. The property itself offers 4,000 m² of office space, thus enough room for further expansion. Among others, the 200 employees from Bad Honnef shall permanently find their new place of work there. In total TXL employs approximately 450 persons throughout Europe, including wagon inspectors and train drivers.

TX Logistik was established in Bad Honnef in 1999 as a private railway enterprise. Since 2011 TX Logistik has been wholly owned by Trenitalia, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello stato. The aim of TXL is to generate growth from shifting transport from road to rail. The rail logistics enterprise concentrates on the four product groups automobile, freight (conventional transport), intermodal (combined transport) and maritime (sea containers) and is currently operating 360 weekly block trains with 70 modern multisystem locomotives in ten European countries. The equipment includes 200 own and 1,300 rented wagons.

“We are able to operate in one system from Scandinavia to Italy. We produce this on our own and are thus able to provide the required quality – in terms of transit time and provision of information“, says Frank Lehner. TXL is holding licences in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.
