TX Logistik plan to expand in Austria

TX Logistik AG (TXL), a private rail transport company based in Troisdorf (Germany) announced yesterday in a press release that they intend to strengthen their commitment in Austria. The railway specialist Gero Sieberger, who has been Director Operations at TXL for many years, will, in his additonal function as Managing Director of TX Logistik Austria GmbH, also promote the expansion in Austria.

In the course of this reorganization, the Operations division will also be modified. On October 15, 2017, Jens Tanner will join the railway logistics company in Troisdorf as Business Unit Manager for Asset Management & Purchasing and assume responsibility for purchasing, contractual design and maintenance of the locomotive and wagon fleet. For more than 13 years he had been working in the field of rail freight transport at Deutsche Bahn for planning and maintenance control.

TX Logistics was founded in 1999 as a private railway company and has a strong European network. With around 500 employees, the company generated an annual turnover of more than EUR  240 million in 2016. Since January 2017, TX Logistik is 100% owned by the Mercitalia Group, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
