UASC to launch Europe-South America East Coast liner service

Europe to South America Express Service by UASC, COSCO, Hanjin and CCNI will start its maiden journey in March 2011

 

Maritime traffic between Europe and the Southamerica East Coast is about to be enhanced in the form of a new liner service offering. The container shipping lines UASC United Arab Shipping Company, COSCO China Ocean Shipping Comany, HJS Hanjin Shipping and CCNI Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interocenica will start operating the Europe to South America Express Service (SAM1) as of March 2011.

The SAM1 service will deploy six vessels of 2,500 TEU capacity each. The new Europe to South America Express Service will run on a weekly basis with the following port rotation: Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Algeciras, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Itajai, Santos, Salvador, Algeciras and Rotterdam. A call at Paranagua is being planned for a later stage. In Austria the UASC capacities are marketed by Dolphin Shipping Transportagentur, based in Vienna-Wieden.
