Unitcargo Spedition opens its own site in Romania

Autonomous branch of Unitcargo Spedition (Austria) in Bucharest to coordinate transportations mainly from Scandinavia to Romania

Unitcargo, a Vienna-based forwarding company, strenghtens its market presence in Southeastern Europe. In April the company has opened an autonomous branch in Bucharest, thereby responding to the growing market in the Balkans. Headed by Ionut Gheorghe the branch will mainly coordinate transportations from Scandinavia to Romania. On the medium term the entire import/export from and to Romania shall be handled by the office in Bucharest.

“Our objective is to offer full customer service and establish Bucharest as a service location for Romania. The new branch will also facilitate the market development in this region, and help us to expand our position in the Balkans”, explains Mag. Davor Sertic, managing director Unitcargo.

International transport logistics forms the core business of the Unitcargo forwarding company, established in 2004. As a niche player the forwarding company has been specialising in the corridor from Scandinavia to Central and Southeastern Europe. The company manages more than 14,500 truck trips per year within the European Union and in the Near East. In addition to the headquarters in Vienna there are branches in Slovakia, Turkey, Bulgaria and now also in Romania. As to 2014 Unitcargo plans to establish a branch in Sweden.

In total the private company has about 40 employees and can look back on a fast economic development. In the 2013 financial year the group achieved a turnover of EUR 21.5 million.
