Waberer’s saw double-digit growth in revenue in Q2/2018

The European leader in full truckload (FTL) transportation Waberer’s international Nyrt., reported its financial results for the three months ended June 30, 2018. Revenue increased by 17 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2018 to EUR 185 million, in line with long-term growth targets.

The International Transportation Segment increased its share in the European FTL market as revenue grew by 19 per cent supported by 7 per cent higher prices and 12 per cent volume and acquisition effects. Revenue in the Regional Contract Logistics segment increased by 9 per cent, driven by growing warehouse capacity and higher prices, on track to further increase its market share.

Ferenc Lajkó, CEO of Waberer’s international Nyrt. commented: “The second quarter of the year was characterised by double-digit growth in revenue, driven by Waberer’s continuous gain in market share. At the same time, profitability decreased as the company faced headwinds during the quarter. Among others, the recent hikes in the fuel price led to shifts in the transportation portfolio resulting in lower utilisation in both international full truck load services and regional contract logistics.”
