Yodel sees Trustpilot rating rise over peak period

Yodel’s Trustpilot ranking increases by 1.2 points over the peak period – rising from 5.3 at the beginning of November to 6.5 at the end of December.

The company said it delivered 11 per cent more parcels in the four weeks up to and including Christmas Eve, compared with the same period in 2016, and saw a 28 per cent increase in parcels in the week before Christmas.

Yodel opened its Hatfield business control tower in September 2017, which was used to plan and execute its activity over the peak period.

Chief executive Mike Cooper said: “We’re delighted to see the increase in our TrustPilot rating over the Black Friday to Christmas period. We strengthened our operational leadership team earlier this year, recruiting some experienced former retailers to prepare for peak and support our operational turnaround.”

* A survey of 2,099 people by consumer group Which? just before Christmas found that only 35 per cent received all their deliveries as expected in the previous month. One in five said that at least one delivery didn’t arrive at all, and for 18 per cent at least one delivery was late.

Consumers complained about lengthy delays, lack of communication, delivery instructions being ignored and packages being damaged when forced through letterboxes.
