DHL joins Movement to Work

DHL has signed up to Movement to Work, creating 430 traineeships for young people aged 18 to 24 in 2015.

Successful applicants will have a structured six-week programme incorporating work experience and classroom learning in core logistics employment areas including warehousing and storage, customer service and support services.

Paolo Vicari, Movement to Work programme director, said: “We’re delighted that DHL has joined the movement and our mission to tackle youth unemployment. Companies like DHL are able to give young people a unique and invaluable experience and their support is critical for success.”

Following completion of the traineeship, 215 candidates from Movement to Work will have the opportunity to join DHL’s apprenticeship scheme.

DHL’s Nikki Craig said: “With 764,000 young people not in education, employment or training it is essential that businesses play their part in supporting the next generation of their workforce.”
