DHL to build a large logistics center at Vienna Airport
At the Vienna Airport, the dice is cast for a significant expansion of the facilities for international cargo business. Deutsche Post DHL group will construct a 60,000 m² logistics center with two floors. “The contracts have just been signed. In the initital phase, around 250 new jobs will be created,” said Dr. Günther Ofner, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG, on 20 June to the press.
The Vienna International Airport is also negotiating with an internationally operating English company regarding a business site on the airport premises. “We can not disclose the name yet,” said Günther Ofner. It would be exaggerated to call the interested company a Brexit refugee. Altough, the rethinking of those responsible is somehow related to the current political situation in the United Kingdom. Therefore, the probability of a contract conclusion is very, very high”.
