Gebrüder Weiss established GW Logistics Pte. Ltd. in Singapur

Gebrüder Weiss is making inroads into the logistics services market in South-East Asia with a new logistics terminal in Singapore

Gebrüder Weiss has founded a new site in Singapore that provides a broad range of warehouse and logistics solutions. The logistics terminal covers a total area of 10,000 m² and is situated conveniently close to the Port of Singapore, which is the world’s second-largest container port (total cargo tonnage handled in 2014: approx. 34 million TEU). This enables the international transport and logistics company to offer its customers ideal connections to neighbouring countries in South-East Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand. The site operates under the name GW Logistics Pte. Ltd. The company currently employs six members of staff and is planning to expand its local range of services to include domestic transportation by the beginning of 2016.

The site in Singapore has enabled Gebrüder Weiss to bridge a geographical gap in Asia in the field of logistics solutions. Combined with the Weiss-Röhlig sites in Dubai and Shanghai, the logistics expert’s services now cover the South-East Asian market in addition to those in the Middle East and China. Furthermore, customers benefit from a well-established air and sea freight network and the regional expertise developed and refined by Gebrüder Weiss through its operations in these regions over the past few decades. In total, Gebrüder Weiss operates 22 sites in Asia under the Weiss-Röhlig brand – from Tokyo and Shanghai to Hanoi and Dubai. Employing around 6,000 persons at 150 own locations, generating annual sales of EUR 1.24 billion  (2014),  Gebrüder Weiss counts among Europe’s leading transport and logistics companies.
