Manufacturing site snapped up for mid-box warehouse scheme

Total Developments snapped up a former manufacturing site in Crewe in an off-market deal to develop a mid-box warehouse scheme.

The 2.84-acre site has been vacant since For Farmers consolidated its operations to one of its bases in Newcastle-under-Lyme late last year.

A planning application for a four-unit scheme comprising two 10,000 sq ft units, one 20,000 sq ft unit and a 14,000 sq ft building has been submitted with C4 Projects is acting as architect, planning consultant and project manager.

Legat Owen advised Total Developments. Knights Solicitors acted as legal adviser for Total.

Matt Pochin, Director at Legat Owen, said: “This site represents the only development plot currently available in Crewe, which can immediately meet the demand from SMEs for high quality new build accommodation in the area.”
