Global Express opens new logistics facility in greater Graz

Expansion strategy of Austrian express service provider Global Express results in opening of a new logistics site in Kalsdorf, Styria

On January 27, 2014 the brand-new logistics facility of Global Express ltd. in Kalsdorf near Graz is to start operation. The investment of EUR 3 million includes 6,000 m² space, an own fuel station and 800 m² office rooms, 1,000 m² transhipment warehouse and 1,000 m² high rack warehouse. With this site the company consolidates its commitment to the segment of warehousing with picking and fast, region-covering transportations in southern Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

Founded in 2001 by managing director Rolf Hadolt, the company runs two locations each in Austria (Graz, Villach) and Slovenia (Marburg, Ljubljana), as well as locations in Croatia (Zagreb), Germany (Passau) and the UK (Birmingham), with about 110 employees in total. Carrying 350,000 shipments the enterprise generated 2013 turnover of EUR 14 million.

As member of the system alliance GO! Express in charge of Styria and Carinthia Global Express operates a fleet of currently 60 vehicles, ranging from small pickup trucks to 18-tonne trucks. The company specialises in fast shipment of small and general cargo consignments, in particular region-covering transport operated under their own direction in Styria (and southern Burgenland) and Carinthia, as well as economic regions in Slovenia and Croatia.
