Hellmann East Europe and Engemann & Co. form a new joint venture

Hellmann East Europe opens new branches in Germany to defy adversities in Russia and the Ukraine in 2015

Hellmann East Europe (HEE), a company of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics GmbH & Co. KG, is expanding despite the conflict in Russia and the Ukraine. “We have seen some critical situations in Russia, from the ruble crisis in 1998 to the global financial crisis in 2008. We are still convinced about this market and will not reduce our activities contrary to some market players. This applies to staff as well as to our branches“, says Michael Mihm, Managing Associate of the company.

“With the newly joint venture we established together with the medium sized company Engemann & Co. GmbH in Hilden near Düsseldorf – Engemann East GmbH & Co. KG –  we put an emphasis on this and are expanding our presence in North Rhine-Westphalia, one of the most important regions for trade with the countries of the former Soviet Union“, adds Patrick Nathe, also Managing Associate. We will initially offer groupage freight from Hilden to the Baltic States, Russia and the Ukraine. Further countries of the CIS will initially be served via the Hanau hub.

„The existing cooperation with Hellmann East and the matching philosophies of our companies have made the decision very easy to form the joint venture. We see an enormous potential in this partnership and we are very pleased to be able to offer our existing customers powerful CIS services in addition to the Western Europe trade lanes now,“ said Andre Ventker, owner and Managing Director Engemann.

Hellmann East Europe will open further offices in Augsburg and Hamburg this year. They will also continue to invest in the countries of the CIS, say Michael Mihm and Patrick Nathe.
