Waitrose chooses Voiteq Voice

Waitrose has chosen Voiteq technology for its national distribution centre at Magna Park. The site, which is run by Kuehne + Nagel, is made up of 940,000 sq ft of warehouse space, and employs more than 800 people.

Voiteq’s technology will be linked directly to the Waitrose JDA Dispatcher warehouse management system. It is to be used by more than 200 staff at the DC.

“Waitrose was already using voice in our RDCs,” said Jonathon Mayes, IT group leader at Waitrose. “As part of the Waitrose policy, we had to investigate all available solutions on the market and voice still proved to be the best option for the new facility.

“The scanning function of the Honeywell A730 voice terminal gives us additional flexibility and opens opportunities to voice-enable other processes.”
