£200 million logistics scheme set for East Midlands

Following an update to proposals by the landowner, the £200 million Enderby Logistics Hub scheme is back on track in Leicestershire.

The Drummond Estate and Inverock, alongside Landchain, submitted additional information as part of the planning process for the proposed scheme which is located near Junction 21 of the M1.

The new plans show a single point of access for the 1.15 million ft² scheme which could see four units from 151,750–505,250ft² built along with a logistics training centre on the site. The proposals would create approximately 2,000 new jobs.

The application site is identified for employment development in the Blaby District Council Local Plan (Delivery) Development Plan Document (Submission version November 2017).

In its design and access statement, the proposers of the scheme said: “The Enderby site is the only single large site capable of meeting the council’s employment land requirements fully and responding to the pressing need for large-scale sites for strategic distribution.”

Mather Jamie advised.
