34,000 totes for Sigma Pharmaceuticals

Sigma Pharmaceuticals has taken delivery of 34,000 plastic totes from SSI Schaefer for its distribution centre in Watford.

The wholesaler handles generics, branded medicines, OTC medicines, parallel imports, daily living aids, surgicals and unlicensed medicines.

It ordered 34,000 new totes with single detachable lids, split equally between two different sizes – 170 mm and 270 mm high.

Pravesh Patel, operations director at Sigma said: “Since we have been using them, they have proven to be strong, robust and durable – perfect for our operation in terms of both distribution and storage. Each is individually barcoded and we have had them branded with our logo by Schaefer so they can easily be identified and attributed to us within our delivery network. We always get them back.”
