Physik Instrumente partners with Averna on automation solutions for testing and manufacturing

Physik Instrumente (PI), a consortium of companies focusing on high-precision motion and positioning solutions, and Averna, a global test and quality solutions provider, have announced that they have formed a new partnership.

PI will be exhibiting at Stand 425 at the Robotics and Automation exhibition 2022, which will take place next week in the Coventry Building Society Arena on 1 and 2 November.

By combining expertise, both companies hope to deliver advanced automation solutions to meet the growing need for flexible, scalable, and high-throughput manufacturing and test equipment.

“We are very excited to begin this partnership,” said Niels Davidts, VP of Europe at Averna.

“Having worked with PI products in the past, we understand the power of what they offer.

“They are unique in what they do, and we know how to make them work best for our clients.

“A closer partnership will open a lot of opportunities for both parties.”

Scott Jordan, photonics expert and business developer at PI said: “Working with Averna has been very rewarding.

“We have always been impressed with the systems they design for test, quality, and precision assembly.

“Combined our knowledge with Averna’s skills, we can now approach customer challenges in ways that have never been done before.”

With significant overlap in several markets including industrial automation, automotive, consumer electronics, communications and life sciences, PI and Averna claim to offer each other extensive expertise in different areas of focus.

The two companies say their shared goal is to expand each offering to their clients by integrating PI’s precision positioning and micro-robotics systems into Averna’s customised quality and assembly turnkey solutions.

To date, they have reportedly delivered numerous joint projects.

According to the pair, they have delivered improved results for a variety of applications including camera and projector assembly, laser alignment, fibre alignment and optical wafer scanning.

With more than 70 years of combined experience, almost 2,000 specialists and multiple offices located worldwide, PI and Averna suggest they are capable of supporting their clients all over the world.

PI (Stand 425) will be at Robotics and Automation 2022 on 01-02 November at the Coventry Building Society Arena. For more information about this unmissable event, or to register to attend, please visit www.roboticsandautomation.co.uk.
