Acumen expands capacity for finished vehicle logistics

Acumen Automotive Logistics has moved to a new operating centre in Coventry to accommodate its growing finished vehicle logistics business.

The increased capacity at the new site will accommodate Acumen’s expanding fleet of finished vehicle tractors and trailers purchased for new contracts won with Jaguar Land Rover as well as the recently acquired enclosed transporter fleet from Enable.

Peter Raybould, director of Acumen Automotive Logistics, said: “The move to the new operating centre offers a tremendous opportunity enabling us to further grow and expand our customer base. Business is improving and we have a number of new opportunities in the pipeline. Just as exciting is the improved capability the new site gives us to ensure we continue delivering the high levels of service our customers demand.”

In January 2014, Acumen Automotive Logistics expanded its previous contract to deliver finished vehicles to Southampton by delivering both Jaguar and Land Rover finished vehicles from Gaydon, Warwickshire to dealerships throughout the south of England and Wales. In addition Acumen will also be undertaking ferry movements from JLR’s Midlands plants to the Gaydon distribution centre and other localised deliveries.
