Airport Linz provides new accents for air freight

blue danube airport linz is launching two important initiatives to maintain their position as a hub to handle air freight shipments. Acquiring and installing a ‘Dual View – X Ray Machine’ the airport in the airport in the Upper Austrian capital is preparing for the regulations for the handling of substrate of so-called ‘unknown shippers‘, becoming effective by the end of April 2013. At the same time the airport is implementing a project to expand its air freight facilities.
 
With an investment of EUR 6 million, the airport constructs the Terminal 5, which is scheduled to start operations by June 2013. An additional 2,500 m² storage and handling area, seven dockings and 1,100 m² offices will be available for the ‘Airfreight Community’. The air freight facilities at the blue danube airport linz are currently providing about 4,000 m² of handling space, equipped with 10 dockings for the handling of incoming and outgoing shipments.
