Alois Meir promotes ex Quelle logistics centre (Linz) in China

Meir real estate group advertises for its logistics location in Linz at the Transport Logistic China 2012-fair in Shangai

The Austrian logistics property developer Alois Meir enters exceptional ways in terms of marketing its logistics location in Linz. At the international Transport Logistic China 2012-fair in Shanghai, the enterprise recently promoted the former logistics centre of the Quelle mail order company, located in the port of Upper Austria’s capital.

Alois Meir assumes it is merely a matter of time until a customer for the logistics centre can be found; there have already been some negotiations. “We have been operating in this business for more than 40 years, and we know one must be patient with such logistics properties. There are only a few potential customers for such logistics and dispatch centres in the world. However, the logistics complex must fit perfectly into a company’s expansion strategy for Central and Eastern Europe", he knows from experience.

In 2011 the Meir property group acquired the former Quelle logistics centre in the Port of Linz. The facility offers more than 30,000 m² storage area and had been the centra logistics site of the Austrian Quelle AG. A few years after the opening the German Quelle GmbH faced some economic turbulences in 2009 and had to file for insolvency. Shortly after that the Austrian Quelle AG, the biggest subsidiary the group had abroad, was also bankrupt.

Since its establishment in 1969 the Meir property group based in Wels, Upper Austria, has been dealing with the development, construction and rental of logistics centres in Austria and its neighbour countries. The company has such reputable reference customers as e.g. Ikea, ÖBB, Dole, Billa and Lutz.
