AmerisourceBergen to take over World Courier Group

Through the acquisition of the World Courier Group the AmerisourceBergen Corporation gains a special logician for the biopharmaceutical industry
 
The World Courier Group has a new owner. The north American pharma services croesus AmerisourceBergen takes over the worldwide acting specialist for transport, storage and distribution of biopharmaceutical products and diverse other sensitive products for USD 520 million. The acquisition of World Courier adds a new premium specialty service to the existing portfolio of services, as Steven H. Collis, AmerisourceBergen President and Chief Executive Officer, states in a press release.
 
Founded in 1969, World Courier has evolved into a globally acting provider of highly specified logistics services with a network of 137 locations in 52 countries. The network includes an office at the Vienna International Airport. With 2,500 employees the enterprise headquartered in Stamford, US-state Connecticut, generates sales revenues at about USD 500 million in the current year. AmerisourceBergen employs approximately 11.000 people. Annual turnover of the enterprise acting in the US, Canada and selected markets abroad, amounts to more than USD 80 billion.
