AMI plots strategy at first global meeting

AMI – now the world’s largest trade-only airfreight wholesaler – has held its first ever global management meeting at its London Gatwick headquarters.

Following AMI’s most recent purchase – of MMA Consolidators, itself South Africa’s largest trade airfreight consolidator – the growing AMI network now includes 13 wholly-owned stations in the USA, Australasia and Europe, plus 2 joint ventures in the Far East, and service partners covering a further 200 stations worldwide.

Among topics covered in the meeting were further acquisitions, integration and enhancement of the company’s web sites to provide further added-value services, and the launch of additional two-way services between AMI’s own stations. AMI remains totally committed to supporting small and medium-size agents around the world by providing neutral, trade-only wholesale freight capacity backed up by added-value services. Its goal is to enable its customers to compete on level terms with major multinationals, and to offset any negative effects of the current problems in the global economy with new business opportunities.
