Safmarine launches new iPhone app
Safmarine has added another e-product to its range of e-Business accessories with the launch of its application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices.
The new application gives customers instant access to their shipment information.
According to Benoît Lebrun, Safmarine’s Global e-Business manager, the new app enables customers to look up sailing schedules and track containers or consignments. Searches can be customised, and container or booking numbers saved to a "hotlist" so that the customer is notified of any new moves for tagged containers.
It also uses the device’s GPS locator to find the nearest Safmarine office and its contact details.
Another feature of the app is the ability to keep up to date with the latest Safmarine news in real-time.
Meanwhile, Safmarine’s website for mobile devices is accessible via all major mobile systems, including Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Symbian, iPhone and Android.
