APM Terminals – Cargo Service introduces Maintenance and Repair Service in Copenhagen

APM Terminals – Cargo Service, is now offering a Maintenance & Repair (M&R) service at DB Schenker’s rail terminal in Hoeje Taastrup, Denmark.

The service is designed to help shipping lines and truckers avoid traffic delays in Copenhagen’s city centre and reduce emissions by offering them container repair, refrigerated equipment pre-trip services and cleaning/washing of empty containers.

The terminal has easy access to and from the motorway and is close to the railway, where APM Terminals – Cargo Service operate three weekly departures to and from Aarhus.

Commenting on the new service, Johan Uggla, Managing Director of APM Terminals – Cargo Service, Johan Uggla said "Our strategic growth plan calls for constantly finding new ways to better serve our customers while reducing our carbon footprint.  This new M&R service helps our customers address maintenance and repair needs in their transportation chain in a very convenient, high volume location. It helps them avoid unnecessary delays, reduces their logistics costs and promotes environmentally-sound alternatives by keeping the trucks out of the city center. It is a natural extension of our Aarhus/Copenhagen direct rail services launched two years ago."
