Army picks TVS to manage tank spares

The Defence Support Group (DSG) has awarded TVS Supply Chain Solutions two contracts, worth £4.2m, to provide spare parts for armoured fighting vehicles and DSG workshop spares for the next two years.

TVS will provide the MOD with an range of spares for vehicles including Warrior, CVR(T), Challenger II, CRARRV, Stormer and Titan & Trojan; together with supply to the DSG workshops to support assembly, repair, overhaul and upgrade activity. TVS said it would source quality spares at a reduced total cost of supply for the MOD.

TVS currently manages a number of contracts including the provision of Land Rover vehicle spare parts, field kitchen equipment and general consumable spare parts.

It has a dedicated defence facility in Bicester, managing over £10 million of inventory. The contract continues a 15 year involvement in the spares support to the MoD’s heavy armour fleet.

* TVS Supply Chain Solutions has launched a graduate recruitment scheme, and has taken on six graduate recruits across the IT, inventory planning, supply chain and business development areas.

It is working with a range of UK colleges and universities including The University of Central Lancashire, and holds regular assessment days to attract and evaluate undergraduates who may be suitable for a range of roles at TVS.
