Artoni & Samer starts expansion programme in Trieste

More investments of Artoni & Samer at Port of Trieste

Artoni & Samer, a joint venture that was formed at the end of 2007, consolidates its commitment at the location Trieste. In a press conference the management announced investments at the amount of EUR 12 million. In addition to the acquisition of new equipment for the goods handling the existing facilities and structures will be optimised and expanded. Until now the company implemented investments at the amount of EUR 18 million in Trieste.

Artoni Group (Reggio Emilia) and Samer & Co. Shipping (Trieste) are each holding 50 per cent of the shares of Artoni & Samer. The joint venture offers logistics services for customers with special requirements (e.g. Wärtsilä, Ferrero, Redaelli). This includes also the subsidiaries Logitruck and Frigomar. The latter named company operates a port terminal with 180 metres of quay facilities for vessels with a maximum draught of 9 metres. For heavy cargo handling Artoni & Samer provides shore cranes with a maximum carrying capacity of 450 tons.
