Asda picks Norbert to run recycling centre

Asda has extended its agreement with Norbert Dentressangle to include management of its new asset handling and recycling centre in Bristol.

The 110,000 sq ft centre went live in February in support of Asda’s new Bristol distribution centre which opened in September last year.

It  replaces a smaller tray wash operation and will provide a complete range of services for the management of returnable transit packaging and the processing and recycling of card, plastic and food waste from Asda stores in the South West.

All waste from these stores will be handled within a single facility, and Asda reckons that this will take more than 200,000 miles off the road each year.
