Asfinag: EUR 1.1 billion in revenue from truck toll

Asfinag registers stable development of toll charges in 2012 and EUR 471 million annual surplus
 
For the year 2012 the Austrian motorway operator Asfinag posted a stable development of toll charges. Return on transport performance, meaning truck toll (motor vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes maximum permissible weight – i.e. all HGVs, buses and heavy motor homes), toll sticker and special tolls (for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes maximum permissible weight), amounted to EUR 1.622 billion and thus rose 3.9 per cent on 2011. Revenue from truck toll amounted to EUR 1.1 billion (+ 3.8%). Through toll charges for cars (special toll and toll sticker) the enterprise gained EUR 519 million (+ 4%).
 
In 2012 Asfinag generated annual surplus of EUR 471 million, up 7.1 per cent on 2011. “We continue on our way of economic sustainability and managed another year without new debts. In addition, we distributed a dividend of EUR 100 million and were able to reduce liabilities by EUR 67 million“, says Klaus Schierhackl, CEO Asfinag, on a press conference.
