Austrian Cargo about to be fully integrated into Lufthansa group

Lufthansa Cargo is preparing to take over 100 per cent of the shares of its subsidiary Austrian Lufthansa Cargo

Austrian Lufthansa Cargo GmbH based at the Vienna airport is about to face a severe change. The enterprise will presumably be taken over by 100 per cent through Lufthansa Cargo AG, effective 1 August 2012, and integrated into the worldwide organisational structure, as reports the daily newspaper ‘Wirtschaftsblatt’. Thus complexity is reduced, which helps cutting costs, as the enterprise states.

Austrian Lufthansa Cargo has been in charge of marketing the air freight services of Austrian Airlines and the companies of the Lufthansa group in Austria since July 2010. Also the hub management in Vienna lies in the hands of the enterprise, which is currently held by Lufthansa Cargo (74 per cent) and by Austrian Airlines (26 per cent). The 80 employees are headed by the managers Hasso Schmidt and Franz Zöchbauer.
