Austrian Post achieved new parcel-record

In 2013 Post delivered 70 million parcels with a daily record of 429,026 deliveries

The clear winner of the rising online trade and the Christmas season is the Austrian Post. In 2013 a total of 70 million parcels have been delivered. In December, daily average was 350,000 to 400,000 pieces, on 17 December it was 429,026 parcels, a new record. Partially deliveries were made on Saturdays and Sundays to cope with the large volume.

Improved delivery quality and rising online trade are considered as reasons for the sharp increase. Even at the beginning of the year volume was above average due to returns, financial statements and the contracts sent at the turn of the year, the company announced in a press release.
