boxXpress orders Vectron-AC locomotives for Austrian routes
boxXpress adds four new locomotives to vehicle fleet for border-drossing rail transport in Germany and Austria
The private railway company for container transport boxXpress has ordered four Vectron-AC locomotives with Siemens. The vehicles on order will be handed over at the Siemens locomotive plant before the end of this year. They are designed for border-crossing transport in Germany and Austria.
In addition to the national rail safety systems all vehicles will be equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS). The maximum performance of the locomotives is 6,400 kW and maximum speed of 160 km/hMoreover Siemens will assume full service of the vehicles.
The boxXpress company is a leading provider of transport services in railway transport in the hinterland of the seaportds. Last year the enterprise has carried a total volume of more than 700.000 TEU in German-speaking area.
