British Gypsum goes digital in deal with XPO

British Gypsum, the manufacturer of plasters, plasterboard and drylining systems, has chosen XPO Logistics to optimise its UK supply chain with a single, digitally-managed transport network.

Distribution will take place from British Gypsum’s five manufacturing plants and four outbases in the UK.

XPO will create an integrated transport network for British Gypsum using a customised delivery model using its cloud-based platform XPO Connect. It will manage all downstream processes, including load securing, yard management and weighbridge operations.

The vehicle fleet will feature telematics and cutting-edge safety technology. The vehicles will meet the Direct Vision Standard for heavy goods transport and the FORS/CLOCS accreditations for road risk management.

“XPO has the scale and vision to help us manage our growth, while serving our customers with greater efficiency and a zero-harm safety ethos. We look forward to a long and collaborative partnership in the UK,” said British Gypsum distribution manager Brian Fisher.
