BS Handling Systems partners with Advanced Supply Chain Group

Leicester-based materials handling specialist, BS Handling Systems, has automated carton processing for supply chain service provider, Advanced Supply Chain Group.

Advanced Supply Chain Group, (ASCG), reprocesses circa 1.5m units of stock from around 150 different suppliers every week. The group has partnered with BS Handling Systems to enhances processes to improve efficiency and productivity for its fashion retail operation.

BS Handling Systems installed two conveyor systems at the Bradford facility, as part of a £350,000 automation project.

The first conveyor belt is an 84m long, two-tier powered system which runs in-between workbenches.

John Howe, head of operations at ASCG, said: “the system has enabled us to double our throughput capacity, reduce the number of shifts needed per day, and reduced lead times.”
