Cargolux Airlines is also serving the Austrian capital Vienna now

Vienna International Airport has seen the first ever landing of a Boeing 747-8 freighter on 3 August 2013; weekly service from Asia to Austria
 
Cargolux Airlines International has started a weekly 747 freighter service to Vienna on 3 August 2013. The new stopover in Austria’s capital is an extension of the existing Saturday flight from Hanoi and Hong Kong. With Cargolux flight CV6716, Vienna International Airport has seen the first ever landing of a Boeing 747-8 freighter last weekend. Additionally with its freighter service to Vienna, Cargolux is also able to curb its trucking activities from Austria to Luxembourg.
 
For Cargolux, Vienna is an important gateway to Eastern European destinations; for many years, its customers have used road feeder services, connecting the major industrial centers in Eastern Europe with Vienna and the airline’s hub in Luxembourg. The airport offers round-the-clock operations without curfew and 24-hour cargo handling facilities.
 
Both Hanoi and Hong Kong are home to major production centers for the electronics industry. Cargolux expects this commodity to feature heavily on the Vienna route. Hanoi especially shows a growth in tonnage, which prompted the airline to introduce a third weekly frequency to the Vietnamese city in March.
