Carousel, the Kent-based logistics operator, is merging with German logistics company LSi Logistiks, bringing together infrastructure, networks and assets.

The two companies have worked together for more than seven years. The deal gives LSi clients access to Carousel’s UK distribution network, while Carousel’s clients will have access to services in Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Spain.

Reinhard Klausner will remain as LSi’s managing director, and also join the Carousel Executive Board. There will be no name change to LSi nor any changes to its current operation teams.

“As individual companies, we each offer personalised solutions with a unified passion for excellence. We both start with our customers and work back from there to ensure we create the very best logistics solutions possible, and with such synergies it seemed only natural that the two companies should become one,” said Carousel chief executive Graham Martin.

And Reinhard Klausner, chief executive of LSi Logistiks said: “We’ve worked with Graham and his team for many years and while this partnership is simply a formalisation of our existing relationship, together we offer a really exciting opportunity to our clients. Having combined our networks, unrivalled expertise, plus local knowledge and leading-edge technology we know we are bringing a very unique offering to the market. We are both really looking forward to the future as one.”
