Cathay Investment buys Rhys Davies & Sons

Cathay Investment has purchased the largest 3PL based in Wales, Rhys Davies & Sons, after previously acquiring Warehouse One Distribution in September.

RDL is a national company with 9 sites across the UK, specialising in logistics solutions for customers who have demanding warehousing and distribution requirements.

Ben Chaing, chief executive at Cathay said: “They [RDL], will work together with our warehouse and logistics providers, WH1 and Amethyst Group Limited (Amethyst) along with our freight forwarders PNC Global Logistics UK Limited (PNC) to expand our logistic business nationwide and enhance the range of services we can offer.”

Mark Richmond and Stephen Thomas, former directors of Rhys Davies, said: ”RDL will continue to provide nationwide transport services whilst its warehousing and logistics capabilities will undoubtedly be bolstered as a consequence of this deal.”
