CEVA and Suzuki continue relationship with €7.9m distribution contract in the UK

CEVA Logistics has been awarded a three year, €7.9m contract to manage Suzuki’s nationwide distribution of aftermarket vehicle and marine parts. On behalf of Suzuki, CEVA will continue to deliver over 2m parts per year.

CEVA has been working in partnership with Suzuki in the UK since 1994, providing dedicated distribution services, however in April 2011 CEVA commenced a new operation where deliveries are now completed through CEVA’s specialist automotive network.

Wayne Dye, Suzuki’s General Manager Parts and Accessories, commented: "During our long standing relationship with CEVA our partnership has evolved in many ways, including the introduction of double deck trailers and sophisticated IT systems. By working with CEVA and its other automotive customers we are joining an established automotive network which will improve cost efficiency and deliver higher service levels for our dealerships."

Simon Hobbs, CEVA’s Vice President, Automotive in the UK, said: "We are very pleased that Suzuki has renewed this contract with CEVA. This contract win is testimony to our commitment to Operations Excellence and our extensive experience in this sector. Our shared user network is making over 1,000 deliveries each day nationwide, this equates to around 3,000 roll cages or loose items, and the scale and efficiency will further improve as we add more automotive customers."

Earlier this year, CEVA invested in a new vehicle fleet of 56 vehicles and 11 double-deck trailers to support continued growth in its UK shared user automotive network.
